Traditional Processions Of Madduta And Mappacci In Mappabbotting Event Of Bugis Community In East Tanjung Jabung: A Sosiopragmatic Analysis

Abstract

This research examines the various forms of speech acts, presuppositions that emerge and conversational implicatures that emerge in the traditional madduta and mappacci processions in the mappabbotting event of the Bugis community in East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. The method that will be used in the research is a qualitative method. The qualitative method is an easy method when dealing with multiple realities. The approach used for the subject of this research is a sociopragmatic approach. Meanwhile, the technique used is interviews by recording and taking notes directly. The overall data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The conclusion obtained is: the study of pragmatic aspects related to the Madduta and Mappacci traditional processions still prioritizes the element of deliberation and the existence of an element of mutual respect between both parties. The aim and purpose of holding the Mappacci traditional procession is that according to Bugis custom, the parents who are carrying out their child's wedding have purified themselves from their duties and responsibilities as parents and the bride and groom, both men and women must purify themselves from actions that are less than well in the past.
