The Coastal Malay community in Terengganu possesses a strong oral tradition that serves not only as entertainment but also as a vehicle for transmitting religious values. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of pantun and gurindam as educational media for the principles of Fiqh Muamalah, such as the prohibition of riba, honesty in trade, and contractual fairness. Employing a qualitative method with an ethnopedagogical approach, data were collected through textual analysis of local literary manuscripts and interviews with traditional leaders and local economic practitioners in Terengganu. The results indicate that pantun and gurindam are capable of simplifying complex muamalah concepts into easily remembered moral messages (mnemonics) for the general public. Gurindam, with its advisory structure, tends to be used for instilling tawhidic values in economic activities, while pantun serves as a social control in daily transaction practices. This study concludes that integrating local literature into Sharia economic education can enhance culture-based Sharia financial literacy within coastal communities
