The Influence of Islamic Boarding School Extracurricular Activities on Students’ Independence and Discipline

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of extracurricular activities in Islamic boarding schools on students’ independence and discipline in Tanjung Jabung Timur. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. The research sample consisted of 100 students from five Islamic boarding schools selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that students’ participation in extracurricular activities has a significant positive effect on their level of independence and discipline. These results suggest that extracurricular activities not only support the development of academic and social skills but also play an essential role in shaping students’ character holistically
