Abstract

This study examines the impact of globalization on Shariah law, analyzing the challenges, opportunities, and innovations that emerge in contemporary Muslim societies. Global interconnectedness, technological advancement, and cross-border legal interactions have created unprecedented pressures and prospects for the interpretation and application of Shariah principles. Using a qualitative approach combining literature review, comparative case studies, and semi-structured interviews with scholars, legal practitioners, and policymakers, the study identifies key trends in adapting Shariah law to global contexts. Findings indicate that hybrid legal frameworks, digital governance platforms, progressive jurisprudence, and institutional innovations are crucial for reconciling traditional Shariah principles with global norms. The study underscores that globalization can serve as a catalyst for innovation in Shariah law, enhancing its relevance, ethical compliance, and societal impact.
