Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence students’ interest in Islamic financial institutions (IFIs). With the growing role of IFIs in providing Sharia-compliant financial services, understanding students’ preferences and motivations is crucial for promoting financial literacy and participation in Islamic finance. The research employed a quantitative survey method, targeting 200 university students in Indonesia. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring students’ knowledge of Islamic finance, attitudes toward IFIs, perceived benefits, and social influences. The results reveal that knowledge of Islamic finance, perceived benefits, and peer influence significantly affect students’ interest in utilizing IFIs, while demographic factors such as age and gender have minimal impact. The study highlights the importance of financial education, awareness campaigns, and social engagement in fostering student participation in Islamic financial services.
