Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Islamic economic principles within pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) education in Indonesia. Islamic economic principles, which emphasize justice, transparency, accountability, and ethical financial behavior, are integral to shaping students’ economic knowledge and moral character. This research employed a mixed-method approach, combining surveys and interviews with students and teachers from five pesantren. Findings indicate that pesantren successfully integrate Sharia economic principles through both classroom instruction and experiential learning activities, such as cooperative management and entrepreneurship programs. The study also identifies challenges, including disparities in institutional resources and the need for digital financial literacy. These results highlight the transformative potential of pesantren in fostering financially disciplined and ethically responsible students
