Shariah Law in Practice: Integrating Legal Theory, Policy, and Societal Needs

Abstrak

This study examines the practical implementation of Shariah law, focusing on the integration of legal theory, policy development, and societal needs. While Shariah provides a comprehensive ethical and legal framework, contemporary challenges such as legal pluralism, globalization, technological advancement, and evolving social norms necessitate adaptive approaches. Using a qualitative methodology that combines literature review, comparative case studies, and semi-structured interviews with scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, the research identifies key strategies for harmonizing theoretical principles with practical governance. Findings indicate that hybrid legal frameworks, institutional innovation, and progressive jurisprudence are essential for ensuring justice, ethical compliance, and societal relevance. The study highlights that integrating legal theory with policy implementation and social responsiveness enables Shariah law to remain transformative and relevant in modern contexts.
